Conferences (Includes Professional Meetings & Classes)

IPD ELIGIBILITY: Full-time Faculty and Part-time Faculty (7.5+ LHE)

The IPD offers various funding opportunities for attendance of Conferences, Professional Meetings, and Classes! Funding is issued on a first-come first-served basis and determined based on available funds and subject to change each fiscal year.

2023-24 CONFERENCE FUNDING:

A single conference/meeting/class can be funded up to 100% of actual permissible expenses ( e.g. registration, lodging, mileage, and parking, etc) up to the $3,000 annual max. If the maximum is not used on the first conference and as funds permit, multiple applications can be submitted to request funds up to the $3,000 annual max.

Full-time Faculty:

  1. $3,000 towards attendance of DISCIPLINE-RELATED conferences, meetings, and classes (annual allowance per eligible faculty member).

  2. An additional $3,000 towards attendance of GENERAL EDUCATION/TEACHING conferences, meetings, and classes. (Non-discipline related. Annual allowance per eligible faculty member). This is funding in addition to the $3,000 fund to attend discipline conferences!

  3. An additional $250 in conference funding to faculty members presenting at the conference. (Must submit proof of presentation such as the conference program when submitting for conference reimbursement ).
  4. Full reimbursement of approved eligible expenses for attendance of Academic Senate for California Community Colleges conferences. Apply at least six weeks in advance and the Senate Office will assist with prepayment of the registration fee.

Supplemental CFE Funding – CFE will provide an additional $300 supplement to members who have exceeded their campus professional development funds for a single conference. Contact the CFE office to request additional information.

OPTION - If you are full-time faculty on Columns 1-IV of the salary schedule and wish to earn SALARY ADVANCEMENT CREDIT (SAC) instead of requesting funding for attending a conference/meeting/class, it is recommended that you complete a Salary Advancement Application. You may not receive SAC for a conference paid for from District funding.

Part-time Faculty (7.5+ LHE Districtwide).

Part-time faculty with assignments at more than one college in the District should apply for conference funding at the college with the highest LHE assignment. Those assigned to 7.49 or less LHE may apply through CoastCCA. Click this link for additional information on CoastCCA funding: "Conferences - Part-time faculty..."
